Latest Spring-Summer Haute Couture collections of Christian Lacroix to be showcased during "Sensations" finale of DSF fashion extravaganza

Dubai, 09 February, 2005 - Legendary fashion icon Christian Lacroix will unveil their unique new collections at "Sensations", the grand finale of Dubai Fashion 2005, a major attraction of Dubai Shopping Festival, presented by BurJuman at One&Only Royal Mirage on Wednesday, 9th February.

Dubai Fashion 2005 is being held under the patronage of Her Highness, Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister.

Christian Lacroix will present their range of Spring-Summer Haute Couture collections for the new season in Dubai following their launch in Paris and before they go on display at other fashion capitals of the world.

Lacroix is a gifted designer who is firmly entrenched in his era, who views the past with tenderness and admiration, fully devours the present and imagines the future with a kaleidoscope spirit. The lines of his work are essentially Mediterranean, curios and contemporary. Highly influenced by contemporary art, he designs his world famous creations using a more graphic and pure style. Weaving, crossing and combining colours are the key words that best describe these collections. His designs define Haute Couture as a perpetual creation, an explosion of colors, the chance to be fully free in his designs and to create totally unique pieces.

In the year 1981, he began working at the Jean Patou House, and took up the challenge of Haute Couture, a profession that certain individuals claimed was on the decline. Season after season, he succeeded in defining the 80's with their bright colors, extravagance and luxuriance. In October 2002, Christian Lacroix received the insignia of Chevaliers de la Legion d'Honneur from Bernard Arnault, Chairman LVMH.

The Spring-Summer Haute Couture Collection of Christian Lacroix will also be shown to an exclusive clientele by private appointment on Thursday 10th February.
